The whispered rumors carry on the wind through the centuries of giants from long ago. As children, we all knew the rhyme ‘fe, fi, fo, fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman!’ But in the midst of all our fantasies of childhood, did we ever consider that the giants were, in fact, a real legend?
But Snopes says the giant bones pictures are fakes from a photo contest. Snopes is not, never was, and never will be a credible source. They get something right once in awhile, but for the most part all they do is Google information and then write a synopsis they find about it. If they find more nay’s than yay’s, guess which way they write? An opinion of an opinion is the worst way to propagate “factual” information. That’s worst than third-hand information! To latch onto a biased opinion that bears no reflection of actual work for investigating beyond Googling a phrase, which anyone can do, is hardly a basis for stating whether or not something is true. If that were the case, I should set up my own wiki-style of Snopes and see how much I could make off of it. Not a bad job, when you think about it. Unfortunately for them, I’ve seen all the pictures they posted plus many others and I’ve read books about and containing this subject matter that all deals with ancient history. When I say their opinion is crap, I mean it in sincerest way.
One of the first things I came across in my research early on was that the pictures were a hoax. Ok, I can give up on that. However, just because any picture that surfaces could be a hoax does not mean the entire idea is. By faking pictures and then announcing them as being fakes (a photoshop hoax is not uncommon anymore, thanks to our digital age), are those who are opposed to this ideology hoping to completely debase the entire fact?
Let me throw out some things to you. First, you have to accept the authorized King James Version Holy Bible as being the infallible Word of God. There are some things which are simply stated fact. Using the Bible as our compass, being a solid foundation from which to work from. (Ok, even if you don’t believe the Holy Bible to be true, there are still a lot of amazing things in there.)
Let’s start with a few examples of incredible things in the Bible.
The Day The Sun Stood Still, Joshua 10:12-14
Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.
Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord heeded the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel.
We could say that the celestial rotations coming to a halt for about a day is impossible.
Another instance is this with Samson in Judges 16:3
And Samson lay low till midnight; then he arose at midnight, took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two gateposts, pulled them up, bar and all, put them on his shoulders, and carried them to the top of the hill that faces Hebron.
Ok, so we’ve established that there are absolutely incredible things that are recorded in the Bible. There is also the global Flood, the 10 Plagues of Egypt, and virgin birth of Jesus which are in their own rights absolute miracles.
So why is it hard to believe that when the Lord was speaking in Amos 2:9 (go back to Amos 2:6 “Thus says the Lord”)
“Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them,
Whose height was like the height of the cedars,
And he was as strong as the oaks;
Yet I destroyed his fruit above
And his roots beneath.
Now, I might say a lot of strange things but I’m not one to ever accuse God of exaggerating, or correct Him for that matter. If “Thus says the Lord … Whose height was like the height of the cedars” and most every variety of cedar grows to be at least 100ft tall, I believe it is safe to say that the Giants the Lord was talking about weren’t from New York or San Francisco or had big egos. My question is, where is the evidence of these things? There are plenty of pictures and findings out there. The ‘Footprint of God’ in South Africa (see video below) that’s 3 mins long is pretty hard to refute. It was made before the mud was granite. We all know how hard granite is too.
There are many things that have been found that are monstrous in size that no person by today’s standards could possibly use. Giant axes, hammer heads, more footprints like the one in South Africa. We’re tantalized with two major clues in the Bible. First, where Jesus said that the end would be the same as in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37) but the Bible says nothing of what those days were like. Second, the closest we have for any clues is found in Genesis 6, where the Watchers aka Sons of God came down and mated with humans to produce hybrids that are half non-terran. Rather, they were half celestial being and half human.
It’s from this point on that we have to look to the other texts and things that have survived from the antediluvian age and antiquity as a whole. From there, we can begin to learn who and what the Nephilim were, are, and whether or not they will return in the last few years of this age.
The quest for the truth is a strange one because we have to explore every option and rule out which things are concoctions of fantasy and what is fact.
